The 16 Best Dental Conferences in 2026: My Complete Guide
Pete Johnson
I go to a lot of dental conferences. Like, a lot. My wife has stopped asking "where are you going this week?" and started asking "which state?"
But here's the thing: not all dental conferences are created equal. Some give you real connections, actionable insights, and that energy boost you need to go build something. Others give you a lanyard and a bag of pens.
After eight-plus years on the dental conference circuit — and 20+ speaking engagements across the country — I've dialed in the events that are actually worth the flight, the hotel, and the time away from the office. Here's my complete 2026 dental conference lineup and what makes each one worth your time.
Dental Conferences I've Already Attended in 2026
Rocky Mountain Dental Convention — Denver, CO (January 22-24)
Rocky Mountain Dental Convention is one of the original must-attend dental conferences, and it's always a strong way to kick off the year. Over 140 CE lectures, a massive expo floor, and the Denver dental community shows up in force. What I love about RMDC is the sheer variety — whether you're a general dentist looking to sharpen clinical skills or a practice owner trying to figure out your marketing strategy, there's a track for you.
The vibe is the perfect mix — people come ready to learn, but they also know how to have a good time. Great energy, great crowd, and Denver in January is always a good excuse to get out of the office.
Cain Watters Annual Meeting — Nashville, TN (February 19-21)
If you don't know Cain Watters, you should. They're one of the top financial advisory firms for dentists, and their annual meeting in Nashville is where business-minded practice owners go to get serious about the business side of dentistry.
We're talking financial planning, tax strategy, practice transitions, and growth planning — all specific to dental professionals. About 500 attendees, up to 7 CE credits, and the caliber of people in the room is next level. If you're a practice owner thinking about scaling, selling, or just getting your financial house in order, the Cain Watters Annual Meeting is a must.
Benco Dental Sales Forum — Denver, CO (March 2026)
This one's an internal Benco Dental event, so I can't point you to a registration page. But I'm including it because it's a big part of my year. Getting in front of the Benco sales team, sharing what we're building at Lasso MD, and hearing what's top of mind for reps in the field gives me a direct line to what dental practices are actually dealing with right now.
If you ever get an invite to a Benco internal event, say yes.
International Dental Implant Symposium — Hawaii (March 2026)
The International Dental Implant Association, founded by Dr. Arun Garg, runs some of the best implant-focused dental events in the country. The Hawaii symposium in March was a highlight — I got to present my talk on mastering AI search visibility for dental practices, and the reception was incredible. Dr. Garg has built a community that's hungry for both clinical excellence and business growth, which is exactly where AI-powered marketing fits in.
The dental implant space is exploding, and if you're a practice looking to grow high-value implant cases, IDIA events connect you with the right people and the latest techniques.
Upcoming Dental Conferences and Events (April - December 2026)
Dental Forum — Salt Lake City, UT (April 27-28)
Dental Forum USA Spring at the Grand America Hotel is different from your typical dental conference. It's built around pre-scheduled meetings between dental groups and suppliers — think speed-dating for dental business relationships. If you're a DSO or growing group practice, this format is incredibly efficient. You walk in, sit down with the vendors and partners you actually want to talk to, and leave with real deals on the table.
Plus, DSOs and dental groups attend free. Hotel, meals, and drinks are included. Hard to say no to that.
Benco Build Your Future — Dallas, TX (April 30 - May 1)
Benco Build Your Future is Benco Dental's hands-on design workshop for practices that are building, expanding, or renovating their dental office. Whether you're starting a practice from scratch or adding operatories, you get to work directly with equipment and design experts to plan your space.
They run multiple sessions throughout the year in Frisco, TX — standard builds, startup-focused, and technology integration tracks. If you've got a dental office construction project on the horizon, this is the event that keeps you from making expensive mistakes.
Bay Area Dental Expo — Santa Clara, CA (August 21-22)
The Bay Area Dental Expo is the heartbeat of the Northern California dental community. Two stages, 15+ in-person CE presentations, and a tight-knit group of dental practitioners who genuinely support each other. They run multiple events throughout the year, so if you're a dentist in the Bay Area, there's no excuse not to show up at least once.
What I like about regional dental events like this: the conversations are real. You're not lost in a crowd of 10,000 people. You're sitting next to someone who practices 20 minutes from your office, solving the same problems you are.
Oklahoma Society of Dental Professionals — Multiple Events Throughout 2026
OSDP is part of the Dental Professional Learning Network (endorsed by AADOM), and they run dental education meetings and roundtables throughout the year across Oklahoma. Dinner meetings, annual roundtables, continuing education — it's the kind of grassroots dental community that I think more states need.
These local chapter-style dental events are underrated. The intimacy of a 30-50 person dinner meeting creates professional relationships that a 5,000-person convention never will.
AADOM Annual Conference — Orlando, FL (September 3-5)
AADOM is the dental conference for office managers and practice management professionals. Over 1,100 attendees at the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Orlando, and the energy is unmatched. These are the people who actually run the day-to-day operations of dental practices — scheduling, billing, HR, marketing implementation — and they are hungry for knowledge.
If you're on the vendor or marketing side of dental like me, AADOM is where you meet the people who will actually implement what you're selling. Dentists make the buying decision, but office managers make it work. The AADOM conference respects that.
Smile Source Exchange — San Antonio, TX (September 9-12)
Smile Source Exchange is built specifically for independent private practice dentists, and I love that about it. 17 CE credits, exclusive vendor pricing, and meals and drinks included Thursday through Saturday at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. The focus on keeping independent dentistry competitive is exactly the kind of mission I'm here for.
If you're an independent dental practice owner who's tired of feeling like the DSOs are eating your lunch, Smile Source Exchange is your people.
Smile Together — Las Vegas, NV (October 1-3)
This is my favorite dental conference of the year. Full stop.
Smile Together in Las Vegas is one of the most up-and-coming events in the dental industry right now, and I think it's going to be a major force for years to come. The format is similar to Dental Forum — structured, pre-scheduled meetings between practice owners, DSOs, and vendors rather than wandering an expo hall hoping you bump into the right person. That meeting-based conference format is a game changer. Every conversation is intentional. Every meeting is with someone who actually wants to be there.
But what sets Smile Together apart is the energy around it. This isn't a dental conference that's been around for 30 years and is coasting on reputation. It's growing fast because the people who go once always come back. The content is sharp, the networking is top-tier, and the production value is on another level. They even cover travel and hotel for qualified attendees — which tells you how confident they are that the experience sells itself.
What I love most: Smile Together brings together practice owners and DSOs in a way that actually feels collaborative, not competitive. You leave with a full notebook, a full contact list, and a full tank of motivation. If you only go to one dental conference this year, make it this one.
International Dental Implant Symposium — Miami, FL (October 2026)
The IDIA is back for round two in 2026, this time in Miami. After presenting on AI search visibility at Dr. Arun Garg's Hawaii event in March, I'm locked in for Miami in October. The implant market is one of the fastest-growing segments in dentistry, and Dr. Garg's symposiums consistently attract the doctors and industry leaders who are pushing the specialty forward.
If you're looking to grow your dental implant program — or you're a marketer trying to understand the implant patient journey — this is essential.
Honorable Mentions: Other Top Dental Conferences in 2026
I can't be everywhere (my wife would kill me), but these are five other dental events that absolutely deserve your attention this year. If you're looking to build out your own conference calendar, any of these would be a great addition.
Supercharge Your Dental Practice — Fort Lauderdale, FL (September 25-27)
Supercharge Your Dental Practice is Dr. Len Tau's baby, and it's one of the best marketing-focused dental events out there. TED-talk style presentations from 17 industry leaders, 14 CE credits over two days, and it's held at Pier Sixty-Six in Fort Lauderdale — not a bad setting for a conference. Dr. Tau has been named a Dentistry Today Top Consultant eight years running, and the speakers he brings in are the real deal. If you're a practice owner who wants to get serious about marketing and business growth, this is the one.
Greater New York Dental Meeting — New York City, NY (November 27 - December 1)
The Greater New York Dental Meeting is one of the true OG dental conferences — and one of the only 4-day events left in the industry. Held at the Javits Center in Manhattan, GNYDM draws tens of thousands of dental professionals from around the world. World-class CE education, a massive exhibit hall, and the kind of international attendance you don't get anywhere else. If you've never been, put it on your bucket list. There's a reason this event has been a staple for decades.
Yankee Dental Congress — Boston, MA (January 29-31)
Yankee Dental already happened this year, but I'm calling it out because it's one of the premier East Coast dental conferences. Three days at the Boston Convention Center, extensive CE courses, a huge exhibit hall, and it draws thousands of dental professionals from across New England and beyond. If you missed it in January, mark your calendar for 2027.
Chicago Midwinter Meeting — Chicago, IL (February 19-21)
The Chicago Midwinter Meeting is the Chicago Dental Society's flagship event and one of the most respected dental meetings in the country. This year's program had 230+ CE courses including 45 hands-on workshops. McCormick Place is a world-class venue, and the Midwest dental community goes all in for this one. Another one that already happened in 2026, but if you've never attended, it's worth the trip to Chicago next February.
CDA Presents — Anaheim, CA (May 14-16)
CDA Presents is the California Dental Association's flagship convention and one of the largest dental events on the West Coast. Three days at the Anaheim Convention Center with 180+ CE courses, 130+ speakers, and over 450 exhibitors. Registration is waived for CDA members, which is a nice touch. If you practice in California or anywhere on the West Coast, this is your home-team conference.
Why Dental Conferences Still Matter in 2026
In a world where you can watch a dental CE webinar in your pajamas, why am I still flying to 11+ events a year?
Because deals happen in person. Partnerships form at dinner, not on Zoom. And the energy of a room full of people who care about the same industry you do? You can't replicate that on a screen.
Every dental conference I attend makes me a better strategist for the 1,500+ practices we work with at Lasso MD. I hear what's keeping practice owners up at night. I see what technology is actually gaining traction (not just what's getting hyped on LinkedIn). And I get to test and refine the tools we're building in real conversations with real dental practitioners.
